Girls Empowerment Project
Our girls empowerment programs
Every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, lead, and build a future free from barriers. Our girls’ empowerment programme equips vulnerable and at-risk girls in Cameroon with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills they need to thrive through education, leadership development, life skills, mentorship, sexual and reproductive health education, and entrepreneurship training. By teaching business management, financial literacy, vocational and digital skills, and supporting girls to start small income-generating activities, we help them become economically independent and resilient.
Our goal is to empower girls to make informed decisions, overcome challenges such as early marriage and gender inequality, and become confident leaders who create positive change in their families and communities.
Girls sewing and designing workshop in partnership with rising hope foundation for change
Our Girls’ Vocational Training and Entrepreneurship Programme equips vulnerable girls with practical vocational, entrepreneurial, and life skills to help them achieve economic independence and build sustainable livelihoods. The programme provides hands-on training in fashion design and tailoring, including garment making, pattern drafting, sewing techniques, the production of reusable sanitary eco-pads, underwear, and other clothing items. Participants begin by learning sewing terminology, machine operation, fabric identification, and essential sewing tools before progressing to hand stitching, pattern making, garment construction, and creative fashion design. To enhance learning, we use interactive teaching methods, including PowerPoint presentations, audio-visual resources, sewing design applications, and practical workshops.
In addition to vocational skills, girls receive comprehensive entrepreneurship and business management training covering business planning, financial literacy, bookkeeping, branding, digital marketing, customer service, innovation, and enterprise development. The programme also strengthens essential soft skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, negotiation, emotional intelligence, and decision-making. By combining technical expertise with business and personal development skills, we empower girls to start and grow their own businesses, secure sustainable employment, and become confident leaders who contribute to the economic development of their families and communities.
Arts and craft workshop
Using local materials, youths are trained in arts and crafts. Girls learn how to weave baskets, beads(Jewellery) , baby pullovers and rappers with wool thread.
